I am a conservation scientist and community ecologist who uses ecology, social science, and science communication to address major environmental challenges. My passion for science and communication began during my undergraduate education at the University of Texas in Austin. Various outdoor experiences, internships, and a desire to make valuable contributions to conservation led me to pursue a graduate degree in ecology at Colorado State University. I have a passion for research, mentoring, outreach, and teaching, and my career goal is to work at an organization that applies research, collaboration, and outreach to ecology and conservation. I am also committed to encouraging historically excluded groups to pursue careers in the ecological sciences and interested in finding ways to retain these groups. The demographics of the United States and our planet are changing rapidly, and the ecological sciences need to focus on training a new, more diverse generation of environmental stewards to engage with conservation.
