Grazing Exclosures (Shortgrass prairie) In 2016, a team of students and I built grazing exclosures at a bison-grazed site and a separate site grazed by a similar density of cattle. This project will help grassland ecologists and land managers understand how removing bison and cattle may influence plant community composition and structure in a shortgrass prairie.
EDGE (Shortgrass, mixed-grass, and tallgrass prairies) EDGE (Extreme Drought in the Grasslands Experiment) is a multi-year drought experiment implemented across different grassland types in the United States. I am interested in analyzing cover and above-ground biomass data to understand how plant communities in the Great Plains respond to extreme drought.
DrougthtNet (Global terrestrial ecosystems) DroughtNet is a global network of researchers using the same methods to assess how extreme drought affects terrestrial ecosystems. I am collaborating with people in the US and globally to organize and analyze data from this project.
